Olivier Ribet
Senior Regional Director, Asia, Microsoft
As Senior Regional Director Mobile Platform & Services Business Development, Microsoft Greater Asia Pacific, Olivier and his team partner with Mobile Operators, Systems Integrators and Independent Software Vendors, as well as Devices Manufacturers (OEM) and Chipset companies to drive the creation, adoption and deployment of cross-platform innovative mobile applications and services across Asia, targeting consumer and enterprise customers.
Prior to this role, Olivier was the Asia Mobile Operator Sales and Marketing Director, in charge of establishing and growing the mobility business for Microsoft in Asia. He created and led a sales team of Mobile Solutions Managers across Asia and grew the share of the Telco segment by more than 110% over a period of 2 years, closing several multi-year strategic partnerships with global and regional Operators across Asia.
Olivier was previously the Senior Director of Microsoft CRM and Communities technologies and platform, in Redmond, Washington. He led a 150+ employee product development and engineering team in charge of the Microsoft Technical Communities properties (blogs, chats, forums, RSS, collaborative development, online technical knowledge bases). His team was also in charge of the CRM applications and infrastructure used globally by Microsoft for the planning, execution, reporting and benchmarking of the marketing investments happening across all subsidiaries and regions.
Olivier has also worked with the Server and Tools Division where he led the launch of the Microsoft Community initiative directed at international customers, partners and technical audiences (developers and IT professionals). Before this, Olivier spent several years with Microsoft France where he managed different teams, including Online Marketing and E-business, Developer Tools business unit and VCs/Telcos marketing, Marketing Communications and Technical Evangelism.
Olivier began his career in the Systems Integration Division of Group Bull (EMEA) where he led business development activities focused on the introduction and deployment of Lotus Notes based knowledge management solutions with European customers. He was also part of the Multimedia and Digital Group of EDF (international Energy Group), a founding member of the W3C. He was also the co-founder and managing partner of Startem-Datops, a European company developing software and services in the competitive intelligence sector. Datops has been acquired by Lexis Nexis.
Olivier has a Master of Economics and Finance from Institut d’Etudes Politiques, a degree of Institut Multimedias Paris, and followed the Asia International Executive Program from INSEAD in Singapore. He also holds a patent (when working in Microsoft Corp in the US) for Text Mining technologies that are now included in commercial product (SQL Server).
He worked before in the SI Division of Group Bull, managing Business Development teams across Europe. He was previously in charge of Multimedia Group of EDF (Electricite de France) and created the first corporate web site in France. He was also co-founder and managing partner of 65 employees competitive intelligence company in Europe that still exists today and got recently acquired by Lexis-Nexis.
He holds a Master of Economics and International Finance from Institut d'Etudes Politiques (1987, Bordeaux) and was in the Jules Vernes class of Institut Multimedias (1995) in France. In 2008, he completed the INSEAD Asia International Executive Programme in Singapore.
In his spare time Olivier enjoys traveling, cooking, running and spending time with his wife and three children.

2006 - 2008As Mobile Solutions Sales and Marketing Regional Director Asia, Olivier Ribet oversaw sales and marketing engagement activities with mobile operators across the Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China region. He was in charge of growing the Windows Mobile business for Microsoft by partnering mobile operators, devices partners, independent software vendors and solutions partners.

2000 - 2002Developed semantics analysis and text mining software and related services. In charge of sales and services to 45+ large European companies. 35 employees, $4.2 M in revenue (+30% growth per year). Sold it to the European leader of this sector 2 years after. Became part of Group Datops (18 countries) and then was acquired by Lexis Nexis.
